DisponibleUne "mode française" à Rome au XVIIe siècle / Jean LIONNET
Titre : Une "mode française" à Rome au XVIIe siècle Type de document : TEXTES Auteurs : Jean LIONNET Année de publication : 1991 Note générale : Revue de Musicologie, T. 77, No. 2, Musique Française Et Musique Italienne Au XVIIe Siècle (Villecroze, 2-4 octobre 1990) (1991), pp. 279-290 Langues : Français (fre) Catégories : Lieux concernés

17e siècleRésumé : After a first period of curiosity for the french culture and politics at the time of Richelieu (corresponding to the reign of pope Urban VIII), during which many frenchmen came to visit Rome, the peak of the french influence on the roman " high society " is reached between 1664 and 1680 : in this period all the noble families follow the fashion of Paris for their hats, whigs, gloves, dresses, shoes, carriages and even their food, since a good number of cooks are french. In the mean time, the french colony in Rome has increased its importance and even some bookshops are held by frenchmen. Probably through all these channels some of the french music reaches Rome and some traces of it can be found in a few musical manuscripts or archives : " Aria alla Francese ", " Ballo alla Francese" are new titles found in scores by Alessandro Melani and Abbatini and for a short period the trumpet is used in church music. These little evidences given here might be some hints revealing a french influence on roman music.
